How do checkout upsells work?
Open the Upsells tab to offer add-ons inside the same Stripe checkout modal a member is already in - merchandise, rentals, supplements, personal training. Upsells support class-level targeting and image uploads, and each item gets its own revenue reporting.
Why in-checkout matters
The add-on appears in the same Stripe modal as the purchase the member is already making, so there is no second checkout, no second card entry and no separate confirmation. That is the difference between an add-on someone accepts and one they mean to come back for.
Setting one up
- Create the upsell in the Upsells tab: name, price and an image.
- Target it. Choose which classes it should appear for, so grips show up for boxing and mats for yoga rather than everything everywhere.
- Publish it. It then appears at checkout for the classes and products you targeted.
What sells well
- Consumables - wraps, grips, tape, drinks. Low price, low deliberation.
- Rentals - gloves, mats, towels, especially targeted at beginner classes.
- Merchandise - shirts and bottles, which also do brand work.
- Personal training - the highest-value add-on, best targeted at members buying a first pack.
Reporting
Every upsell item reports its own revenue, so you can tell which add-ons are worth stocking and which are noise at checkout. Treat a low-converting upsell as clutter and remove it - each extra option costs a little friction on the core purchase.
Keep the list short. Upsells work by being an easy yes. A checkout with six add-ons converts worse on the thing you actually wanted to sell.
