How do discount codes work?
Open the Discounts tab and create either a single code with a name you choose, or bulk codes - up to 10 unique codes at once. A discount is a fixed amount off the price, not a percentage, and it applies to class packages rather than memberships or individual classes. Codes are validated in real time at checkout.
Single versus bulk codes
| Type | What it is | Use it for |
| Single code | One code with a name you choose, for example SUMMER. | A public promotion everyone uses. |
| Bulk codes | Up to 10 unique generated codes at once. | Referrals, where each member gets a trackable code of their own, or limited campaigns. |
What a code carries
| Field | What it means |
| Code | What the member types at checkout. |
| Discount amount | A fixed amount deducted from the price, not a percentage. |
| Uses | How many times it has been redeemed, against the maximum if you set one. |
| Expires | The expiry date, or "Never". |
| Status | Active codes can be redeemed; inactive ones cannot. |
Restrictions you can set
- Max uses - cap total redemptions, for example "first 50 customers".
- Expiry date - a deadline, which is what creates urgency.
- Package restrictions - limit the code to specific class packages.
- One per customer - each member can redeem it only once.
Important limitation: discounts apply to class packages only. They do not apply to memberships or to individual class bookings. If you want to discount a membership, create a lower-priced membership product instead, or use an intro offer restricted to new customers.
How to use them well
- New member offers: bulk codes with an expiry date, handed out in a campaign.
- Referral rewards: give each existing member a unique code to share, then read the usage report to see who is actually referring.
- Seasonal promotions: a firm expiry date does more for conversion than a bigger discount.
- Scarcity: a low max-uses cap ("first 10") is a stronger prompt than a longer window.
- Package-specific: restrict a code to the pack you actually want to move.
Tracking usage
Each code shows its redemption count against its cap, and you can open a code to see who used it. For referral programs that list is the whole point: it tells you which members are bringing people in.
